Rooted in North Wales, looking everywhere
The Welsh concept of 'cynefin' describes the multiple environmental, historical, and cultural threads that shape how we perceive reality. Cynefin Productions was founded to honour that depth. We believe reporting should never be formulaic; it should capture the full texture of human eccentricity, political friction, and hidden communities.
Rigorous reporting, cinematic storytelling
We combine traditional investigative legwork with compelling narrative journalism. Whether spending weeks inside an obscure movement or reporting from town halls, we bring clarity and humanity to every feature.
"Cynefin's investigative series into local fringe groups provided the most empathetic yet incisive reporting I have read all year."
Media Review Weekly
"Refreshing, fearless independent journalism. They tackle topics traditional newsrooms find too awkward or complex to touch."
Reader and patron
"Their sports features capture the heart of the community, turning ordinary club rivalries into compelling drama."
